Lauren Baros

I don’t have to save the whole world. I just have to make the part of it I touch a little better.

Why MHH?
Helping others is what fulfills my soul. I’ve always felt that life is most meaningful when we use our time and talents for something greater than ourselves.
Hero Strengths
My strengths are my compassion, determination, and ability to connect with others. I’m passionate about making a difference.
Hero Weaknesses
I can be a little reserved when I first meet people and sometimes need time to come out of my shell. I also have a tendency to care deeply about others and take on their emotions as my own. I often want to help everyone and make things better for those around me, which can sometimes become overwhelming. I’m learning that caring for others is important, but so is giving myself the same grace, compassion, and space that I give to everyone else.
How do you Define Success?
I don’t measure success by material things, titles, or accomplishments. To me, success is measured by the impact I have on the people I encounter and the difference I’m able to make in their lives. If I can leave someone feeling supported, inspired, encouraged, or simply a little less alone, then I consider that a success.
Passions / Hobbies
I’m a mom, so these days, many of my hobbies revolve around whatever my kids are passionate about! I love being involved in their lives and cheering them on in the things that bring them joy. When I’m not in full mom mode, I love getting lost in a good book, spending time with family and friends, and being anywhere near the water.
Profession and How you Help People
I spent 10 years working for the State of Nevada in the criminal justice and mental health sectors. While I valued that work deeply, I eventually realized I wanted to be in a position where I could make a more direct, hands-on impact. That realization led me to the nonprofit world, where the difference we make can feel much more tangible. For me, there is nothing more rewarding than knowing that the work I do has a purpose and that, in some small way, I’m helping make someone’s journey a little easier.
