COLLEGE OF ENROLLMENT:
CURRENT AGE & PROJECTED AGE UPON GRADUATION YEAR:
My positive attitude! It’s what helped me get through my lows and reach my highs. Having the ability to smile and laugh at myself even when things may not be going the way I had planned.
I love to cook. I’m a huge health freak, so I love to find creative and healthy substitutes for meals and desserts! Also, anything that involves being outside from kayaking, swimming, hiking, or just laying around in my hammock.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF 5 YEARS AND 10 YEARS AFTER COLLEGE GRADUATION:
In five years I see myself in a different city, one that has mountains and rivers, and/or the ocean! I’ll be living in an apartment and saving money to buy a house and working on my career in the environmental field. Oh, and celebrating 5 years cancer free!
In ten years I see myself living in a house with a view of the mountains, training my German Shepherd, planning/opening a local food restaurant, married and celebrating 10 years cancer free!
TOP 3 LIFE GOALS and HOW WILL YOU ACHIEVE THEM:
1. backpack through a national park
2. contribute to cancer research
3. travel and experience different cultures as much as I’m able
BIGGEST TAKE-AWAY(S) FROM YOUR CANCER EXPERIENCE:
Cancer is the toughest thing I have ever endured and it is the toughest thing I will ever endure. With that said, anything is possible. If I just use my strength and attitude I can get me through any of life’s obstacles. And to always appreciate the now. Try not to get caught up in the future or hung up on the past. The present moment is a beautiful thing and to love those you’re spending it with.
