COLLEGE OF ENROLLMENT:
CURRENT AGE & PROJECTED AGE UPON GRADUATION YEAR:
Hodgkin Lymphoma survivor, drinking large amounts of coffee, staying up really late at night, and expressing my opinions confidently and firmly regardless of what anyone thinks.
I love hiking and backpacking, painting, drawing, and relaxing with a good book and a cup of tea.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF 5 YEARS AND 10 YEARS AFTER COLLEGE GRADUATION:
In 5 years I’d love to be living on my own in Washington D.C. because I’d really like to be active in political change in the United States and abroad. In 10 years, hopefully I’ll have my dream job of being a curator for a gallery, but if not I’d still like to be looking at working in the public sector and pushing for reform in the way our country looks at people’s identity (race, sexual orientation, gender, etc.) in the legal system.
TOP 3 LIFE GOALS and HOW WILL YOU ACHIEVE THEM:
1) Double majoring in Chemistry and Art History – by working hard and taking advantage of all the opportunities I have at the university.
2) Backpack through the Andes – exercising and slowly building up the endurance and fitness to hike for many miles for many days.
3) Volunteer at hospitals and cancer centers – I keep finding cancer centers wherever I am and apply for a volunteering position so that I can be a resource to anyone who is still fighting.
BIGGEST TAKE-AWAY(S) FROM YOUR CANCER EXPERIENCE:
I finally understood how much people care about other people; we’re truly all in this together and have to look out for each other as human beings. People aren’t really all that bad – they mean well and they have the capacity to love well too.
