CURRENT AGE & PROJECTED AGE UPON GRADUATION YEAR:
2-Time Defending Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Champion, 15% Bionic Man from Dual-Hip Replacement, Bone-Marrow Transplant Super Powers, positivity, fortitude, I can also see through glass.
My family. Hanging out with my big black lab named Traveler. Music, along with my major I am pursuing a minor in classical guitar. I love to record music, of my own and others. I enjoy tinkering with electronics, fixing and breaking things as well as building my own devices. I also play the pedal steel guitar, though I have very much yet to learn!
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF 5 YEARS AND 10 YEARS AFTER COLLEGE GRADUATION:
Happy and healthy is the most I could ask for. But I’d like to attend graduate school for a degree in audiology sometime after undergrad. I hope to work as an audiologist and help the deaf and hard of hearing, particularly veterans and musicians. I also see myself continuing my practice and work as an audio engineer.
TOP 3 LIFE GOALS and HOW WILL YOU ACHIEVE THEM:
1. Build an amplifier of my own design. I will continue my studies of electronics until this goal is met.
2. Share my story. Write a book, blog, short story, record an album, or simply continue to have conversations with others about my journey.
3. Stay Happy and Healthy. For me, a big part of this is keeping strong ties to family and friends. Especially family.
BIGGEST TAKE-AWAY(S) FROM YOUR CANCER EXPERIENCE: Goals are important. Pain is only temporary. Have a voice and use it. Accept help. We’re all in this together, family and friends and those that love you may not feel every blood draw, surgical procedure or chemo treatment, but they feel for you in their own ways and are an enormous source of strength.
